Distinct in its simple clean lines, this handsome chest of drawer is a fine example of Ming furniture style. Made of Elmwood by artisans, nine drawers are constructed dovetailed for long lasting durability. Hand applied black ebony finish easily blends with different decorating styles. A great way to use as sideboard in dining room or bedroom. Hand forged brass hardware. Measures approximately 17.5” by 42.5” by 33” tall. Used, but in good condition. Below is more info from the manufacture… The nine drawers in this beautiful black lacquer oriental chest are mounted on wooden runners to give an easy action when they are opened and closed. It features the usual frame and panel construction with a simple apron below the lower frame and round brass handles that mirror the hardware of classical Chinese cabinets and chests. The Chinese did not use chests-of-drawers as we did in the west until quite recently - but the classic frame and panel joinery and circular brass handles are typical of traditional Chinese furniture. This chest is therefore not strictly a reproduction but instead our own modern interpretation, still with a strong oriental style.
